Travis Kelce reflects on marijuana suspension shaping NFL career

Travis KelceThe college suspension of marijuana polluted his height at the 2013 NFL Draft, but he had no regrets about the outcome.
“The interesting thing about Trav is that there is nothing hurt [that plagued his draft ranking]. I think you have two things. ” Jason Kelce He and Travis' “New Heights” podcast on Wednesday, April 30. “You got hurt and then obviously your marijuana was a sophomore year.”
Travis, 35, was suspended during his sophomore year and the University of Cincinnati Football Team failed a drug screening and tested positive for weeds. Travis laughed, “You say 'marijuana' sounds even more intense.” “Why does the word sound so intense?”
Jason, 37, noted that the strong part is how Travis University’s record of airships affects his draft pick. Travis entered the third round at the 2013 draft, but according to Jason, he should go faster.
“You probably are later than you should,” Jason explained. “I just think it's fun to think back on sometimes, like, all of these concerns about Travis Kelce, like everyone who knows you know you're a good kid.
Jason added that NFL players are now open to smoking marijuana and asked the question: “Will we behave like the death penalty?” Travis jokingly replied: “Yes, we are.”
Although Jason was still a bit ridiculous when he was selected for Travis, he was selected by the Kansas City Ceagins, where he still showed tension, Travis wasn't shocked by his draft squad.
Travis admitted that the “worked” draft when he was with the Chiefs for more than a decade and won three Super Bowls with them.
However, Jason admits that he believes Travis should respond to the downgrade by following his own punishment: smoking.
“I just want everyone to be in the draft out of any attention, and if it throws it away, they should do the exact same role focus,” he teased. “Like, you should just go and sign the second deal, smoking with a blunt device in your hand, as a sign of paper.”
Jason clarified: “I'm not forgiven smoking weeds, but unless you sign a deal for millions of years, you want to say 'f *** you' to everyone who doubts you because you do smoke weeds.”
Travis had previously spoken about his suspension affecting the draft and told his podcast listeners that the Dallas Cowboys “a little bit forced me to force me to get missing for a year,” which is probably why they passed him.
However, NFL players have confidence that weed misfortune and missing out on his sophomore year is the best thing of his career.
“What [the suspension] It did, and it really kicked me into a tight room,” Travis recalled when he appeared on the 2023 “Bussin with the Boys” podcast. “I was still playing QB at that time. It's like, 'Okay, you can walk around the team, but we don't need a quarterback. You can be an athlete on the Scout team for a year and we'll figure it out. '”
Travis decided to be a tense ending during the suspension and is now considered one of the best in the NFL ever.
