Tesla launches cheap model y

Tesla's Model Y in the US is getting cheaper – if you don't mind less motors, that's it.
The company has launched a new version of the recently redesigned Y Electric SUV. Called the Y Model Y remote rear-wheel drive, the price starts at $44,990 before federal tax credits and local incentives.
For comparison, the long-distance all-wheel drive configuration starts at $48,990.
Mixable light speed
This should bring sales growth to Tesla.

For your money, you can only get a motor that drives the rear axle with slower acceleration – from 0-60 mph the car rides for 5.4 seconds, while the all-wheel drive version is 4.6 seconds. But, according to Tesla, you get more range too: 357 vs. 327 miles.
The $7,500 federal tax credit increases the price of the car to $37,490. However, delivery starts from three to five weeks, while the all-wheel drive version is available immediately.
Cheaper versions of Tesla’s best-selling car should boost sales, and Tesla needs it because a quarter of it is awful. It is worth noting that Tesla's sales plummeted in Europe, despite the fact that the rear-wheel drive model Y has been on many markets there for weeks.
