Mellencamp, 41, shared a series of photos through her Instagram story on Sunday, May 11, which shows the time of the day. The reality star is currently battling stage 4 cancer, sharing 12-year-old daughters Slate and 5-year-old Dove and 10-year-old son Cruz Edwin Arroyave.
“The kid spoiled me,” Melenkop captioned a photo. “Feeling so happy and happy.”
In April, Mellencamp showed off her brain surgery scars while attending an unforgettable night, benefiting the Beverly Hilton Women’s Cancer Research Fund. Mellencamp underwent surgery to remove two tumors metastasized from the melanoma diagnosis.
Hours before the event, Mellencamp went to Instagram to open up her scars, sharing that she “cried” when she first met them. “It's been 76 days since I went to the emergency room with an unbearable headache and it's quickly discovered that I have multiple stages 4 tumors, plum size in the brain and lungs,” she wrote at the time. “The melanoma has been metastasizing there, and I've been there for 6 months to a year, and we don't know.”
Mellencamp continued: “When I first looked at this photo and looked at the scars on my head and arms, I cried. Then, I felt warmth pouring into my body and feeling too much peace. From my incredible support system for my family and friends, peace comes from my family peace. From here the peace of love comes from here.
