PARIS (AP) – A fire department said a lightning strike at a zoo in southern France put a German woman in critical condition.
The Bouches-du-rhone Regional Fire Department said another 12 people were injured, four of them were injured. They gathered in a storm at La Barben Animal Park north of Marseille.
The service said no animals were hit.
It is not clear whether anyone was hit directly. The department said lightning appeared to hit the ground first. It says some people have ears and eyes pain.
It said it had no direct details about the injuries of German women.
The zoo did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
