Sources told Zee Business that after a few COVID-19 cases were found in the south and west, the union health minister reportedly reviewed the infection on Saturday, May 24. The official was joined by senior officials from the Ministry of Health Research (DHR), Indian Medical Research Council (ICMR), General Administration of Health Services (DGHS) and National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), sources said.

“In the home care, most Covid-19 cases find mild cases in nature”

According to official sources from the Ministry of Health, most of the situation is mild, under home care. Through the National Respiratory Virus Sentinel Surveillance Network of Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP) and ICMR, there is a powerful pan-Indian system for monitoring respiratory diseases such as COVID-19.

Earlier this week, the increase in reports of infections in Singapore and Hong Kong raised growing concerns about the recurrence of cases in other parts of Asia. However, official sources said the Indian government is constantly, closely monitoring the situation and under control.

The sources said that from the respective national IHR focus, there is no indication that the cyclic variant is more transmissible or causes more severe disease than the previously cyclic variants.

The union’s Ministry of Health continues to remain vigilant and actively monitors the situation closely through its various agencies.
