The controversial political commentator fatally shot deadly while speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. He is 31 years old.
The baseball team honored Kirk ahead of Wednesday’s game against the Detroit Tigers at Yankee Stadium. In addition to the moment of silence, the team also paid tribute to Kirk by showing his photos on Jumbotron and the word “Remember Charlie Kirk.”
The New York Yankees released through the team’s official X account: “We remain silent in Charlie Kirk’s memo before tonight’s game.”
“Kirke founded the youth activist group ‘Turning Point USA’ and has become a fixture on the university campus. The husband and father of two are 31 years old.”
Kirk was shot around 1:20 local time as part of his American comeback trip. Video shared on social media shows Kirk appears to be shot dead in his neck while talking under a tent in the university courtyard.
The hunt for the shooter is still in progress. Kirk’s wife survived Erika Frantzve, and their daughter 3 years old, son 1.

“We are a heavy heart, we are the American Turning Point Leadership Team, writing to you that Charlie received an eternal reward in heaven with Jesus Christ early this afternoon,” the statement said.
President Donald Trump Kirk’s death was also reported through the Society of Truth.
“The great and even legendary Charlie Kirk is dead,” Trump, 79, wrote. “No one understands or owns the young man of the United States of America better than Charlie. He is loved and admired by all, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my compassion for his beautiful wife Erika and family. Charlie. Charlie, we love you!”
Hollywood stars, including Chris Pratt and Candace Cameron Burehas responded to the news of Kirk’s death.
“We love you, Charlie,” Cameron Bure, 49, wrote via Instagram. “Well done, kind and faithful servant.”
Pratt, 46, wrote through X: “Pray now for Charlie Kirk, for his wife and young children, for our country. We need the grace of God. God helps us.”
