Ninth-ranked 18-year-old Mira Andreeva and 19-year-old Mboko will meet for the first time in the 500 after easing into the semifinals on Friday.

Andreeva beat her doubles partner Diana Schneider 6-3, 6-2, while Mboko needed just 59 minutes to defeat Australia’s Kimberly Birrell, a day after defeating Madison Keys 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.

Mboko won her first title at the WTA 1000 in Montreal last year and also captured the 250 title in Hong Kong. In addition to defeating 2025 Australian Open champion Keys, Mboko also defeated Beatrice Haddad Maya and Anna Kalinskaya in Adelaide this week.

She hit 22 winners that day, while Birrell only hit seven.

“It felt good because all my other matches were pretty long – I was happy that I could be more aggressive today,” she said.

Andreeva also won the 1,000-level title in Indian Wells last year and will compete for her fourth career title.
