Ashlyn Harris claims she received $5K in parenting allowance in her career in professional football

Retired football star Ashlyn Harris It was “very difficult” to say that balancing motherhood with her professional sports career.

“You know, we don’t have enough money to have full-time parenting and schooling, so we can do what we want when we play,” Harris, 39, claimed in the Sunday Sports Club podcast on Sunday, August 10. “Now, some teams have built [certain stipulations so] You can take your babysitter to the tour and provide you with additional flights and hotels. ”

She added: “At the time, I lived in New York. I mean, asking my kids to go to daycare, it’s not cheap – and you won’t get all the compensation [these types] Things during training. ”

Harris has played for St. Louis Sports, Washington Freedom, Western New York Flash, FCR 2001, Washington Spirit, Tyres FF, Orlando Pride and Gotham Football Club throughout his career. Harris is a former member of the U.S. Women’s National Team, sharing 4-year-old children Sloane and 3-year-old Ocean with his ex-wife Ali Krieger.

After Harris and 41-year-old football star Krieger welcomed their kids, the “big-open” Podcaster said they need to hire extra help when practicing and playing.

“You have to have a nanny [and] You have to be helpful and you have to make sure you sleep. ” She told the Podcast host Allison Kuch. “Is it possible [to do it all?] Yes, but you’d better have a village around you because you can’t take the burden of the team, a child and yourself without failing. ”

Harris said at some point in her career that she did receive “$5,000 in stipend” from the team at the time. (She doesn’t have a name squad in the podcast episode.)

“[It] Harris said: “$5,000? Thanks, but thank you. Actually, it’s absolutely embarrassing. I mean, I’m going to tax it at that time [and] You’d better keep it. ”

Harris finally decided to retire in 2022 to spend more time in Sloan and the Ocean.

“I’m absolutely addicted to being a mom,” she said in the episode on Sunday. “I’m addicted to spending time with the kids. I don’t think I can’t buy it, and now is the time. I don’t want to miss a moment.”

Harris and Krieger completed their divorce in January after announcing their separation for two years. Each of them is moving forward with their new partners.
