Assam: Prime Minister Modi will visit state on September 8, opening ceremony of Rs 4,2 billion in bio-financing

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Friday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Assam on September 8 and will open a biorefinery in Numaligarh.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open a biorefinery in Numaligarh that will convert bamboo to 2G ethanol. The plant has been established, with bamboo set up for Rs 420 crore.
CM Sarma said at Mangaldoi he will lay the foundation for several critical infrastructure projects.
He said: “After that he will go to Mangaldoi in Dharam district, where he will lay the foundation for the loop of Guwahati, a new bridge connecting the Kurua and Narengi rivers, and he will also lay the foundation for the Darrang Medical College.”
Following these events, the Prime Minister will return to Guwahati to attend the inaugural ceremony of Bharat Ratna, a one-year centenary celebration organized by the Assam government.
“Thereafter he will come to Guwahati. He will participate in the inaugural ceremony of the year-long celebration of the 100th birthday anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr Bhupen Hazarika, organized by the State government of Assam. It is a day-long program and we have already started preparations to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Assam on that day,” Sarma said.
Meanwhile, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah also plans to visit Guwahati on August 29, where he will open the newly built Raj Bhawan.
CM Sarma said: “We built a new Raj Bhawan in Guwahati and the Union Home Minister will open a new Raj Bhawan on the morning of August 29. In the recent Panchayat poll in Assam, the BJP-led NDA won a huge victory.”
Later in the day, Amit Shah will attend the congress of all newly elected NDA Panchayat representatives in the state.
“The general meeting elected to all NDA Panchayat representatives will be held in Guwahati in August, with the Union Minister of Interior.
