At least 19 people were injured in Germany’s fair fireworks

At least 19 people were injured in an expo involving fireworks at a German expo in Dusseldorf on Friday night.

The Düsseldorf Fire Department said earlier on Saturday that at least one child and four of the injured were injured.

Nearly 80 fire and rescue workers were called to the scene.

According to this information, during the large fireworks display late Friday, one of the fireworks detonated at an altitude of too low for unknown reasons.

Police are investigating the cause of the incident, but assessing that it was an accident.

Due to the event, organizers of the largest fair of the Rhine or Düsseldorfer Rheinkirmes (Düsseldorfer Rheinkirmes) ended the celebration.

The organizers said in a statement that they deeply regretted the accident. A spokesman said they will now check whether the expo firework tradition will continue next year.

The fair, which originated from annual celebrations to commemorate the city’s patron saint Apollinaris, began on July 11 and was scheduled to last until Sunday.
