3) What does guarantee mean in ATP?
Safeguarding at the ATP means taking action to prevent injury, respond to concerns and promote a culture of safety and respect at our tournaments. This is to protect people, particularly players, children and adults at risk, and ensure issues are taken seriously and handled with care.
Our approach to conservation is guided by the following principles:
- Trauma-informed care: Protection plans are rooted in trauma-informed care principles and are designed to prevent recurrence of traumatic experiences and restore a sense of safety, strength, and self-worth. The plan aims to prioritize the welfare of everyone involved in ATP tournaments, particularly all at-risk children, adults and anyone with a history of abuse.
- Shared Responsibilities: Protection is everyone’s responsibility. All involved are expected to adhere to the principles of the Protection Plan and work together to ensure a safe professional tennis environment during ATP Championships.
- Championship Security: ATP takes safeguarding concerns and allegations seriously and strives to respond promptly.
- Work together to: The ATP works with other organizations within and outside tennis to improve safeguarding standards and best practice.
