Bank Holidays in September 2025: Bank clients will face two three-day holidays in September 2025, with bank branches in several states closed from Sunday, September 21 to Tuesday, September 23, and from Sunday, September 28 to Tuesday, September 30.
Navratra Stapna holiday will be on September 22
Banks will be closed on September 22 in Jaipur to commemorate the start of Naviratri to call the goddess Shakti.
ID-E-MILAD/MILAD-UN-NABI or ID-E MILAD CLASTURES will be on September 5th
According to the official holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India, banks will be closed in Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Ranchi, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, and Vijayawada on September 5 on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad/Milad-un-Nabi or Eid-e-Milad.

Closed on Sundays in September
September 7, September 14, September 21 and September 28 will be Sundays, which are regular weekly bank holidays nationwide.
August’s total closing
Overall, state banks will remain for about 15 days on weekends, second and fourth Saturdays in September 2025, as well as major festivals such as Navratra, ID-E-Milad and Onam, and will take place on weekends, second and fourth Saturdays.
Online services are not affected
Although physical branches will remain closed these days, customers can continue to use ATMs, internet banking, mobile applications and UPI services without interruption, unless in a very few planned maintenance situations.
