BEML builds Rs 18,000 crore metro coaching factory in Madhya Pradesh

Public sector company Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) will set up a metro coaching factory and rolling stock in Madhya Pradesh with an investment of Rs 18 billion. It is worth noting that Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav handed the distribution letter of 60 hectares (148 acres) of land to the company during a one-day visit to Bengaluru.
“They are now setting up Coach Van der Bharat in Bangalore even in Madhya Pradesh,” CM Yadav said in Bangalore after handing over documents related to land allocation.
The facility will be located in the village of Umaria in Goharganj Tehsil, Raisen district.
The Madhya Pradesh National Cabinet has approved the distribution of land for the project, aiming to improve the production of rolling stocks, railways and subway coaches in the region.
Mohan Yadav formally handed over the land allocation documents to Beml on Wednesday in his duties in Bengaluru.
The company has expanded its manufacturing footprint by acquiring 148 acres in Madhya Pradesh, thus enhancing its domestic production capacity.
The government has approved 60.063 hectares of land in Umaria to establish modern facilities dedicated to the manufacturing of railway and metro components in national infrastructure projects.
State officials will submit official distribution letters to Bell in the presence of the Chief Minister. Beml is committed to establishing a factory in Goharganj, Raisen District for the production of high-speed rail and subway coaches.
During the visit, the Chief Minister will also visit the institute and conduct interactive meetings with investors in Bangalore to highlight the industrial potential of Madhya Pradesh.
Bengaluru-based BEML produces a variety of heavy equipment such as Earthmoving, transport, railway and mining equipment. BEML is the second largest manufacturer of Earth mobile devices in Asia.
The Bangalore Program is organized to attract investment from various sectors.
CM Yadav and investors also had a one-on-one discussion in key areas such as information technology, electronics, manufacturing, defense, automotive and tourism.
He will also visit the Beml campus and attend the inauguration of the 2100th Metro coach.
In addition, Chief Minister Yadav spoke at an investment forum in Madhya Pradesh, showing the state’s industrial advantages and policy initiatives, bringing leading investors to investors in medium, small and micro-enterprises (MSMEs) and large sectors.
The initiative strengthens Bemr’s contribution to the country’s “Made in India” program, while meeting the growing demand for advanced transport solutions. It further supports regional development by generating jobs.
The new plant will increase BEML's production capacity and ensure faster delivery time for large-scale shipping contracts. Given the growing demand in urban areas, the unit will play a crucial role in timely project execution.
In addition, on May 9, Beml announced the acquisition of 100 acres of land in Janjgir-Champa, Chhattisgarh, symbolically 1 RE 1 per acre, demonstrating the country's strong support for industrial expansion.
