As Amazon prepares for annual membership sales from July 8-11, the retail giant’s latest 13-inch price is only $849 (also in all colors). This is $150 for the M4 MacBook Air retails for $999, a huge discount on a popular laptop that was only published in March. I think that while I welcome any attempt, other laptop deals are hard to get in touch with that season during this golden season.

In Windows laptops, I see three models marked record prices before Golden Day – including the 2025 Asus Zenbook Duo, which is a great dual-screen. It’s more of a niche option, but if you’re a heavy multitasking that doesn’t want to drag on an external monitor, its current $200 discount is pretty tempting.

After Prime Day officially begins in 2025, I think we will see more discounts on gaming laptops from brands like Acer and Asus, just like the golden days of the past. While most of them may be starring in the Nvidia Geforce RTX 40 series laptops, the new RTX 50 series model is my personal beluga.

Thanks to Mashable’s resident laptop masters (and those who have been covering Prime Day since 2019), I want to share some quick reminders to help you make informed shopping decisions when buying as big as your new computer. One is to avoid third-party sellers on Amazon, who may have their own customer service policies or get involved in rough sales practices. Another is cross-checking prices with other retailers to verify Amazon’s deals (occasionally listing incorrect MSRPs) and make sure you get the best deals. For its value, Best Buy is the biggest competitor in laptop trading. It will host Black Friday on July 7-13 on Prime Day.

Amazon’s $849 deal is available for basic configurations with 16GB RAM and 256GB of storage. The Sky Blue variant briefly dropped to $829 in late June, but I didn’t bother to recognize it at its current price: It’s a deal for a new laptop, which is again very affordable.

Last year’s Zenbook Duo was our favorite dual-screen laptop: it has two beautiful OLED displays that last a full workday and comes with free accessories (including a stylus and a built-in keyboard); it also won the Mixable Choice Award. We haven’t tried the newer version yet, but it looks great on paper. It has higher examples with a higher 120Hz refresh rate; it is powered by the new Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 2 processor; its wireless connectivity has been upgraded to WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

Amazon’s configuration features 32GB of memory and 1TB of storage for sale, and it was previously sold for $1,499.99. Ignoring its ads list price is $1,599.99: The model is actually worth $1,699.99 per Asus website, which means you really save $200.
