The rest of the episode takes place in Summer 17, as Cadence bids farewell to the ghost of the liar. Now she remembers that they were able to cross the other side. Cadence’s mother Penny (Caitlin Fitzgerald) also provided her with the choice to continue her life as Sinclair, or to continue moving forward from her family after the tragedy. Choose the latter for rhythm.
“I know I’m losing great love now, I know the work of rebuilding from the ashes. Even in the shadow of tall men in the past,” she said. “I used to be Sinclair, and I think I will always be a liar because liar, you should know, forever.”
Once the Cadence story is over, another start begins. The show cuts Carrie (Mamie Gummer) Taking Percocet, confirmed that she had a relapse.
“I thought you left,” she said. Johnny shows up and reveals that Carrie has been talking to her son’s ghost all summer on the 17th of the summer.
“I don’t think I can,” he replied at the end of the season.
