Bumble starts the DATERS application recommendation center

Today, Bumble launches an in-app dating consultation hub that contains content from dating and relationship experts.

Recently, the dating app for Women Takes First Steps has had a turbulent time lately. Last year, Bumble made the “first step” of improvement with open action, which is how men first message women on the app. Lidiane Jones, then-CEO, said it was feedback from users about the exhaustion of dating apps, which Daters had complained about for years.

Bumble adds many new security and compatibility features

In early 2025, Bumble founder and CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd announced that she will return to the app. Last month, Bumble announced the layoff of 30% of its employees, signaling fatigue in the ongoing dating app.

Mashable Trend Report

Bumble will now release 20 exclusive suggested content from experts Jillian Turecki, Shan Boodram and Kier Gaines, including articles and videos. From the screenshots shared with Mashable, it looks like the wheel will also display content in a format similar to Instagram stories. Topics include being yourself on the app, moving from app to IRL, self-love, first dates, and connecting with others. Bumble’s press release notes that this “marks a broader evolution in Bumble’s approach – integrating technology with human insights.”

Seeing that the Daily Newsman wanted to meet in person, but didn’t know (talking from 10 Daters earlier this year), it makes sense that Bumble hopes to lean towards the “human” aspect of dating. This also makes Bumble stand out because in recent years, dating apps have blended together when they copy different features from each other. Human experts may attract users as dating apps add more and more AI.

Jillian Turecki said in a press release that she is happy to work with Bumble on the dating advice center. “Dating should be exciting, not exhausting, and with the right support, it does.”
