Switch 2 reviews Belkin Charging Case: Simple but Effective

Apart from the screen protector, the best accessory to keep the switch 2 safe is the carry case. With Nintendo’s latest console priced compared to the original console, there are more reasons (about $150) to figure out a way to mask the console. But why stop there? With one important tweak, Belkin has designed a great way to add extra practicality to the basic travel case by allowing you to charge the Switch 2 while keeping it harmless.

Belkin’s Switch 2 charging case isn’t too far from the official Nintendo version, but there are some subtle but welcome improvements. It has a polyester look (gray, green and tan), with reinforced sides and a soft velvet interior. There is a zipper that extends along the perimeter, Belkin is thoughtful and includes a lining to prevent any metal from contacting the switch 2 directly. There are also cutouts and dents that allow the console to be safely ugged. Belkin provides a safe fit without much swing space.

A small drawback is that things may be more stressful (or not fit at all) if you plan to use bulky skin or sleeves. But for someone like me who loves to keep the device naked. As for durability, while I don’t want to drop it off the building Adventure 2, I did drop the console off the table and it was hidden in the case of the shell without any damage.

OK, but what about the charging part? Instead of integrating the battery into the box itself, Belkin makes things incredible. The kit comes with an included battery pack and cutouts with belts to ensure it does not slide during transportation. Of course, this is not the most elegant solution, but it is both simple and effective, while also having the flexibility to charge other devices when needed.

Now, if Belkin chooses a battery built into the case, there may be room for increased capacity. But at 10,000mah I feel like the kit strikes a good balance between size and life. The Switch 2 has a 5,220mAh battery, and Belkin’s Power Pack has plenty of juice for almost two full plenty. Also, since it is removable, if you need to remove something from something other than switch 2, you can grab the battery and leave the case behind.

I appreciate that Belkin didn’t cut too many corners. The package has two USB-C ports that support charging and charging. The speed is also good, the battery can emit up to 20 watts, which is similar to inserting the switch 2 into the wall (although the distance in real life is close to 15 watts). You can even charge both devices at the same time, but since you want to split the output, the situation will take longer. There is even a convenient built-in display so you don’t have to guess how much juice is left in the tank. And, because of the small channel containing the cable and the cable inside the housing that contains the right corner connector, it’s very easy to keep everything neat and orderly while charging.

Some other small but useful details about the Belkin case include a mesh pocket for hiding small accessories like cables. Just don’t stuff too much in it or you might put extra pressure on the console. There is also a flap with elastic pockets that can store up to 12 gaming cartridges. But my favorite feature is the Airtag compartment hidden behind the mesh on the right, which allows you to put the tracker inside without being very noticeable.

The Belkin charging case of the Switch 2 is not very complicated. But considering it’s priced at $70, this is great for me as it has everything you need for a basic case with a very convenient bonus. It looks good, Switch 2 is perfect for the interior and unlike the stubborn Pelican crate, it provides enough protection to prevent daily bumps and falls.

I kind of wish that Belkin would sell a version that wouldn’t provide batteries for anyone who wants to use their own power pack. The company’s no-fee version is not ideal as there isn’t much extra space inside it. But even so, this kit offers a solid combination of price and practicality, which I really asked for.
