De Minaur now plans to have an MRI scan of his hip before a decision is made on his schedule for the final months of the season.

“I played in Shanghai with some painkillers and tried my best to get through it, but I knew something was wrong, right?” De Minaur told Tennis Grand Slam. “I need to go get a scan. I need to see what the problem is, why I’m still in pain, and then once we sit down with the team, the doctors, the medical team, we can evaluate the game plan for the rest of the year, right?

“So there’s a lot of question marks, a lot of uncertainty, so I have to wait and see and play the waiting game.”
