The President says

Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev announced that his country is preparing to file a lawsuit against Russia on December 25 last year on Azerbaijan Airlines plane near Aktau.

The plane crashed from Baku to Grozny near the Kazakh city of Akto on the Caspian Sea, killing 38 people.

Aliyev said on Saturday that even though the situation was “as clear as a day”, Azerbaijan received no meaningful response from Russia seven months after the crash.

Aliyev claimed that Azerbaijan knew what happened to Azal airlines, “We know what happened, we can prove it. And we know Russian officials know what happened,” Aliyev said to the media on the news media of the European Bureau of Europe (Jane Witherspoon).

“The question is: Why don’t they do anything the neighbors would do? Our request or request is absolutely natural: admitting that the accident was their fault.”

Aliyev noted that the Azerbaijani prosecutor had sent a request to the head of the Russian Commission of Inquiry and so far only informed that “the investigation is underway.” He described this position as counterproductive and reiterated Baku’s intention to seek international justice.

Aliyev said Azerbaijan has notified Russia to prepare files for the corresponding litigation.

He refers to the investigation into the crash of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, which seized 239 victims in 2014, and its subsequent inquiry lasted for ten years, saying: “We are ready to wait for a decade, but justice must win. But unfortunately, this situation (currently in Limbo) did not contribute to Russiafia inseraigia anderaigia andzerbaijan and erserbaijan and ezerbaijan and ezerbaijan.

Aliyev made Azerbaijan’s request

According to Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s demand is Russia’s plea of guilty, prosecuting the person responsible for shooting down the plane, paying compensation to the victim’s family and compensation for the damage suffered by Hazard.

On February 4, a preliminary official report released by the Azerbaijani government showed that the aircraft was indeed shot down by the Russian pants’ air defense system.

Sources from the Azerbaijani government first confirmed to EuroNews on December 26 that Russian ground-to-air missiles caused the plane to crash.

Aliyev reiterated Baku’s firm support for Ukraine’s statement.

“Azerbaijan clearly supports Ukraine’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and internationally recognized borders,” Azerbaijan’s leader said in a statement reported by local media.
