China will hold a SCO summit in Tianjin; PM Modi is welcome to attend

China announced that it will hold the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Tianjin from August 31 to September 1, with leaders from more than 20 countries and representatives from 10 international organizations expected to attend.
Lin Jian, spokesman and deputy director of the Ministry of News, Communications and Public Foreign Affairs of China, confirmed in a social media post that Chinese authorities have invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the summit.
He expressed his confidence that with the collective efforts of all member states, the Tianjin Summit will become a platform for strengthening solidarity, friendship and cooperation. Lin further pointed out that SCO is expected to enter a new stage of high-quality development, which marks enhanced unity, coordination, vitality and productivity.
China will hold the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Tianjin from August 31 to September 1. Leaders of more than 20 countries and heads of 10 international organizations will participate in the relevant activities.
