big bank ended his professional tennis career.
Christopher Eubanks Announced today his withdrawal from the ATP Tour.
Eubanks, 29, reached a career-high No. 29. Eubanks won the 2023 Mallorca Tennis Championships on grass, then defeated two top 15 players, Cameron Norrie and Stefanos Tsitsipas, to reach the 2023 Wimbledon quarter-finals and bow out to Daniil Medvedev in five tense sets.
The 6-foot-7 Eubanks, affectionately known as “Big Banks” by his peers, said goodbye to his playing career today on Instagram.
“If you told this little boy from south Atlanta that he would accomplish everything he did, he wouldn’t believe you. Two-time ACC Player of the Year? Yeah. Wimbledon quarterfinalist? No chance. Olympian? Unfathomable,” Eubanks posted on Instagram. “I’ve had the opportunity to travel the world and build incredible relationships while fulfilling my lifelong dream of playing professional tennis.
“I have no words to express how lucky I am. Is this definitely the end?! It’s hard to say for sure, but if it is, yikes!!! It’s been an incredible journey.”
Eubanks performed well while qualifying for the 2023 Miami Open main draw, ranking 119th. The Grand Bankers overturned a tie with a victory and advanced to the quarter-finals, where they lost to Medvedev.

At that Miami Open, Eubanks, a die-hard Roger Federer fan, shared one of his only real tennis regrets: switching from a two-handed backhand to a one-handed backhand because he wanted to emulate his tennis hero, Federer.
Eubanks, an Atlanta native, is known for his powerful serve, willingness to attack the net and his shooting skills.
Eubanks, currently ranked No. 266, brings his tactical acumen to work as a respected tennis commentator for Tennis Channel and TNT’s French Open coverage. Hopefully we’ll see and hear more from the big banks in the commentary booth.
