Following a dream week, Rafael Jodar and Gilles Arnaud Bailly made significant progress heading into the PIF ATP Live event in Jeddah.
Spain’s Jodal moved up nine spots to ninth in the live event after winning his second ATP Challenger title of the season. The 19-year-old made no double faults on his way to victory in Lincoln, USA. He is a sparring partner at the 2024 Next Generation ATP Finals at PIF and is now firmly in contention to qualify for this year’s qualifying tournament.
Jordahl won the U.S. Open men’s singles title last season and has gone from strength to strength this season, also winning the Challenger Tour event in Greece in August. He currently has 267 points, 82 points behind eighth-placed Nishesh Basaverredy, who occupies the final qualifying spot.

Bailey jumped four spots to 11th in the live race. The 20-year-old Belgian enjoyed a breakthrough week on home soil at the ATP 250 event in Brussels, advancing through qualifying before defeating Daniel Altmaier to claim his first tour-level victory.
“I’ve always enjoyed the opportunity to compete in ATP events, but to do this in my country, qualify and win a round is really special. I really want to move on now. It’s been a great year for me,” Bailey said.
Bailly started the season outside of the top 800 in the PIF ATP rankings but is now ranked 232nd. The 20-year-old is proud of the progress he has made this season.
“I worked hard at the beginning of the year and started doing well in futures events,” Bailey told ATPTour.com. “Then I started playing more challenge tournaments and saw my level improving and me playing better and then getting some great opportunities at the next generation position, so I’m grateful for that support.”
