Delhi Rain: IMD sends out an orange alert, more rain is expected in the next few hours

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange alerts for several areas of the national capital, including the Central, East, South and New Delhi. The alert is due to moderate rainfall in several areas of the city over the next 2-3 hours.

The Meteorological Bureau urges residents to stay indoors, avoid shelter under trees or weak buildings, and update on roads and traffic conditions. Travelers are advised to carry an umbrella or raincoat when walking out.

Several parts of Delhi have witnessed today’s rainfall, providing much-needed relief to wet conditions. Earlier in the day, the Delhi Airport Authority issued a passenger consultation following IMD’s bad weather forecast.

“Delhi is expected to hold severe weather conditions in Delhi according to the forecasts of the Indian Meteorological Department. However, flight operations at Delhi Airport are currently normal. For the latest flight information, passengers are advised to contact their respective airlines.”

Wet method continues in northwestern India

The national capital has been witnessing rain showers over the past few days. Earlier this week, heavy rains slammed several parts of Delhi, causing sinks in the city’s pockets.

According to IMD’s August 28 forecast, “Isolated heavy rainfall may be in the next seven days Uttarak, Himaal Pradesh, eastern eastern Rajasthan; August 28-29, September 1-29 and August 31 Uttarakhand, eastern Rajasthan.”
