Weather update: Delhi NCR accepts more rainfall, closes schools in Kerala; view rain forecasts for your city

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for Delhi on May 30 today. The Ministry of Weather warned that thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds reached 50-60 km/h.

Rain in parts of Guwahati

The rain whipped several parts of the city, causing disruption and causing concerns about watering.

The Assam Disaster Management Agency (ASDMA) warns that continued downpours in Guwahati city may lead to flooding, slow traffic and an increased risk of tree waterfalls and local landslides.

Kerala

The Meteorological Department has issued red and orange alerts in parts of Kerala. Some of these areas include Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kozhikode, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha and Thrissur.

Meanwhile, the regional government announced holidays for all educational institutions on May 30.

Andhra Pradesh

IMD predicted three days of thunderstorm in the Kingdom of Andhra from 29 to 31 May.

Rain in Rajasthan

Rajasthan may also be subject to rainfall in certain parts of the state. It may rain in the next two days for the Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer and Jaipur teachers.

Karnataka

A girl was killed in a landslide, and authorities continued heavy rains along the coast of Karnataka on Friday, saving two people in Mangalore.

Rescue operations are underway to locate and rescue three people trapped under the debris.

Due to constant rainfall, two houses are buried underground under the mountain under a landslide near Montepadavu in Ullal Taluk in Mangaluru district. The incident resulted in the death of a six-year-old girl. Fire and emergency services personnel arrived at the scene and began rescue operations.
