DEM Senator El Salvador Trip Possible Legal Violations Liberals Used as an excuse for Michael Flynn Proce: Critics

Senator Chris van Hollen, D-Md. , the sudden journey to El Salvador to try to free the expelled Kilmar Abrego Garcia has attracted the attention of critics who believe the Maryland Democrats may have violated the 1799 law, prohibiting unauthorized diplomacy.

The Logan Act (formerly named by Pennsylvania Senator George Logan), provides for fines and/or imprisonment for Americans corresponding to foreign officials.[ir] Measures…relevant to any dispute or dispute in the United States, or measures to defeat the United States. ”

Logan met with French diplomat Charles de Talleyrand after he refused President John Adams in Paris, where he tried to plead for him – partly through a letter from Vice President Thomas Jefferson to end the so-called “quasi-war” French-American hostilities.

In this way, some famous conservatives questioned whether Van Hollen's actions also violated the law.

“Why is this U.S. senator not arrested for violating the Logan Act? It is illegal to enforce his own foreign policy.”

WMAL host Vince Coglianes read the Logan Act regulations and asked listeners Van Hollen if he did what the code outlined.

“Did Chris Van Hollen violate the Logan Act?” said the Coglia. “Because this is what they blame [Michael] Flynn is…an incoming national security adviser…he is just having conversations with foreign diplomats [after] People chose President Donald Trump. ”

Democrats had previously seized on the Logan bill when Flynn contacted Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak before Trump was sworn in, which eventually led to an FBI investigation and impressed his public service career.

Former FBI agent Peter Strzok's notes were “Vice President: Logan Act” and suggested that then-Vice President Joe Biden use it against Flynn, while then-FBI director Jim Comey said Kislick's letters seemed “legal.”

Byron York, a contributor to Fox News, answered X questions about the matter, saying he repeatedly argued in Flynn's business that the act was a “dead letter.”

“But politically, it’s useful to know that Senator Van Hollen goes abroad to slam the U.S. president.”

According to the New York Post, the American Accountability Foundation (AAF) wrote a letter to the Senate Ethics Committee Chairman James Rankford (R-Okla), asking for an investigation into the violation.

AAF's Thomas Jones said Garcia was “essentially an enemy combatant invasion that transnational gangs are underway.”

Fox News Digital and Lankford reached out to comment.

A book by Trump critic Bob Woodward claims that the tycoon called several calls with Russian President Vladimir Putin between his terms at the White House, the bill was last cited by Trump critics.

Trump's claims on Woodward's book “never ending” Lincoln Project and Kamala Harris slammed Trump.

Agents also consider having Flynn admit to breaking the Logan bill:

After this case, R-Pa. Rep. Guy Reschenthaler failed to successfully seek the Logan Act to abolish it.

Ultimately, no one successfully sued in the Logan Act because Philadelphia himself was essentially grandfather’s.
