Novak Djokovic Return to Shanghai this fall! The 24-time main champion (and four-time Shanghai champion) made the announcement on Tuesday.
Djokovic admitted after the U.S. Open semifinal that he believed he had the best chance to take away the best form of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, who will be finishing the fifth Masters this season, the first since Madrid.
Djokovic said after falling directly to Alkaraz at this year’s Open, “The best five make it hard for me to play them.
“It’s hard for me to overcome sinners, the barriers to Alkaraz, the best five on the Grand Slam. I think I have a better two-thirds chance, but the best five-fifth, which is tough.”
Shanghai will be held from October 1 to October 12.
Djokovic will also attend six king exhibitions in Saudi Arabia (15-18 October) and ATP 250 events in Athens, Greece (1-8 November). The Serbian legend has been 31-10 overall this season.
Djokovic is third in the ATP match against Turin, but it is not clear whether he will compete in this year’s match. The Nitto ATP final will be held from November 9 to November 16.
