Donald Trump warns BRICS countries of 10% of their responsibilities “soon”
Donald Trump U.S. Trade Tariff News: “Anyone in the BRICS country will soon receive 10% of the charges,” U.S. President Donald Trump said Friday. His remarks reiterated an additional 10% tariff on members of the 11-country portfolio, including U.S. allies Brazil, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia.
He spoke at a meeting with White House Cabinet officials.
Trump’s views followed closely by the BRICS summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where leaders describe back and forth as “indistinguishable danger”.
Trump said all BRICS members, including India, must pay an additional 10% of their duties.
Speaking about the EU (EU), the U.S. president said a letter may be sent to the region in the next two days.
He said only a few trustworthy aspects will be able to deal with the United States on trade. “The EU treats us very well,” Trump said.
He said the United States is “choosing a “low and fair” number.
The latest announcement comes a day after the U.S. president declared 25% responsibility for South Korea and Japan.
In a similarly worded letter to two Asian countries, the U.S. president said he would impose trade tariffs.
Trump’s latest expenses for Japan and South Korea were 100 basis points announced on April 2’s “countdown” tariffs, when the Japanese allocated 24% of their duties and 25% of their South Korean products to South Korea.
In a letter to officials in two Asian countries, the United States mentioned that despite the “huge trade deficit”, it still hopes to continue to cooperate with each country. It points out that its relationship is “far from the countdown”.
Each letter mentioned will be subject to higher tariffs to avoid higher tariffs, adding that the U.S. will “do everything possible to obtain approvals professionally and routinely” rather than domestically made.
