The announcement marks a Biden-era decision to keep the facility at its temporary headquarters in Colorado.
Earlier, despite the Trump 1.0 administration’s ruling in 2021, then-U.S. President Joe Biden had decided to leave the facility at a temporary location in Colorado.
Historically, Colorado has been the American country in the Democratic West, while southern Alabama is a Republican.
