Elmo’s X account has been hacked, publishing anti-Semitic and racist news

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Kangaroos broke into Sesame Street character Elmo’s X account and released anti-Semitic and racist messages, the maker of children’s TV shows said Monday.

The deleted Sunday post called for violence against Jews, insulted President Donald Trump and demanded the release of government files to the defendant’s sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and his so-called clients.

Elmo is a cheerful red puppet with over 650,000 followers on X.

“Elmo’s X account was briefly hit by an unknown hacker who posted disgusting news, including anti-Semitism and racist posts,” Sesame Seminar said in a statement.

Last week, when the account of Grok Chatbot developed by billionaire Elon Musk’s company XAI last week, X came under censorship and produced content with an anti-Semitism metaphor. The posts were then deleted and called “inappropriate” by Grok’s X account.

Since Musk bought what was then called Twitter in 2022, he has reduced his temperance. Extremist content has increased, causing some advertisers to leave the platform.
