Elon Musk’s New Party Online Spark Magazine

The suspense is finally over. Elon Musk, the visionary behind Tesla and SpaceX, officially announced the formation of a new party on Saturday, July 5, 2025. What he said is to challenge the long-term rule of the Republican and Democrats.
The controversial tech entrepreneur announced on X (formerly Twitter) at 3:46 a.m. ET: “Today, the American Party was formed to restore you to freedom.”
In a 2-to-1 ratio, you want a new party and you will have it!
When we bankrupt our country with waste and grafting, we live in a one-party system, not a democratic system.
Today, the American Party is established to restore your freedom.
– Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 5, 2025
The creation of the “American Party” is simply a bombshell, especially considering Musk’s significant financial contributions and political alliance with Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election. Last year alone, Musk spent nearly $290 billion to support Trump’s return to the White House. This timely alliance granted itself a “technology king”, which had an unprecedented influence on tech entrepreneurs in American politics. Trump, in turn, entrusted Musk to a custom federal department: the infamous government efficiency department or threshold.
However, Duger soon became a lightning rod for criticism, which many believe is a symbol of aimed at addressing dysfunction within the federal government. Its approach and decisions, including drastic cost cuts to shut down federal agencies and basic agencies, have sparked widespread rejection of billionaires.
The rebound was reflected in protests outside Tesla’s showrooms, with the share price of electric carmakers falling and having a clear impact on profits and sales. Tesla’s sales erosion continued until the second quarter of 2025, during which time automakers’ global delivery volume fell by 13.5%. Tesla’s reputation, as well as Musk’s reputation, suffered a significant hardship, especially when automakers’ customer bases largely include progressives and liberals, who see his political consistency as a sharp difference from their values. Under increasing market pressure, Musk officially withdrew from the government at the end of May.
The public consequences of his departure from Trump almost immediately after he left, a public quarrel between the two powerful figures on June 5. After a relatively calm weeks, Musk rekindled hatred for his fierce criticism of President Trump’s signature legislation “a large and beautiful bill.” He then publicly vowed to launch a party and do whatever he could to defeat the voted Republican elected official.
As promised, on June 30, Musk formalized the party he had previously suggested after the bill signed the law. The initial post that announced the party formation generated over 3 million views in less than an hour, indicating its immediate and widespread attention.
Musk’s reactions on social network X mixed together sharply. Users who clearly supported the Maga Sports and the Grand Old Party (GOP) expressed obvious disappointment and anger. Many people regret the billionaire’s decision at best the conservative vote, and at worst, paving the way for democratic victory in the upcoming elections, especially the crucial mid-2026 period.
“Why not just try to take over the Republican Party with more of the first candidates in the United States?” asked a user, apparently frustrated by the billionaire’s actions.
Why not just try to take over the Republican Party with more of the first candidates in the United States?

Roger Stone, an ally of President Trump, said: “I have a lot of respect for @elonmusk and everything he has done for freedom of speech and eliminate wasteful fraud and corruption in federal spending. But I would rather see his efforts in the Republican primary than electoral reform in the Republican primary than launching new gatherings, rather than launching Marxis’ Democrats and winning the Democrats of Sane, and getting the Democrats of Democrats in the Democrats of the Democrats in the Democrats of the Democrats in the Democrats of the Democrats in the Democrats of the Democrats in the Democrats of the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in the Democrats in
I’m right @elonmusk Everything he did for free speech and to eliminate waste fraud and corruption in federal spending, but I would rather see him working on his own election reform in the Republican primary than hosting a new party…

Another disappointed user questioned the legitimacy of the decision: “So, over a million people around the world take your polls, do you firmly believe this is what Americans want? You do understand that Democrats (now despise you) will vote yes, knowing that you will eventually split the Republican Party.
So, over a million people around the world participate in your polls, do you believe that is what Americans want?
And you do know that Democrats (now despise you) will vote yes because you know you will eventually split the Republican Party.
Don’t do this.

One user pleaded: “@elonmusk you need to rethink that.” “All you can do is hand over power to Democrats through successful third parties for decades.”

An angry user challenged Musk’s character directly: “Someone thought of Elon Musk turning his own people to someone he called friends because things won’t go? Is this the kind of person you want to fall behind?”
Has anyone thought of the fact that Elon Musk brought himself back to someone he called a friend because things won’t go?
Is this the kind of person you want to fall behind?

Another user declared: “This will break the rights and split the vote. I object to this, and so should you.”
This will break the rights and distribute the vote. I object to this, so should you.

Another user warned: “I hope you know what you are doing, Elon, because if you don’t, you’re going to hand the Democrats to Congress and then we’re going to have no choice at all.”
Hopefully you know what Elon you are doing because if you don’t, you’re going to hand it to the Democratic Congress and then we’re going to have no choice at all.

Instead, other users, many of them avid fans of billionaires, seem to be happy with the announcement, which doesn’t seem to surprise them. “You did have a decent party 🎉😂,” joked Jason Calacanis, a famous tech investor, a friend of Musk.
You did have a decent party 🎉😂

“Good Republican vote,” another user welcomed, while another enthusiastically declared: “Rest with the Republican!”
Good Republican voting

The famous political scientist Ian Bremmer simply commented: “The people have spoken.” Another user expressed confidence in Musk’s judgment: “Your intuition has a good record. I hope they are correct again.”

Musk remains convinced that none of the Republicans who currently control the administration are fully representing a large portion of the Americans. He seems confident that the political environment will favor the new movement. Data from the 2024 Gallup study show dissatisfaction with the two major parties: 43% of Americans are identified as independents, while only 28% are identified as Republicans, while Democrats are 28%.
As of July 4, the Bloomberg Billionaire Index’s net worth is estimated at $361 billion, and Musk undoubtedly has the financial ability to pursue his ambitious political efforts.
