Civil War in Sudan, figures

Cairo (AP) – It has been two years since Sudan fell into a civil war, which has led to what aid groups call one of the world’s worst displacement and hunger crises.

The conflict between the Sudanese military and the paramilitary rapid support force has largely continued in the Great Fur and Cordofo regions. Some of the deadliest conflicts have occurred in the capital, Khartoum and surrounding areas, and the Army says it has restored control.

The war broke out in Khartoum in April 2023 and then spread across the country. Both sides have been charged with atrocities, including ethnic cleansing, extrajudicial killing and sexual violence against civilians, including children.

Meanwhile, many people across Sudan were pushed to the brink of famine.

This is the number from the United Nations, humanitarian organizations, health officials and human rights groups to view the war.
