Fighting for missing Texas student, 10 years old, was swept away by flood

Officials said a desperate search was conducted in Texas, and the officials said a 10-year-old girl was “swept away by a rapidly rising flood.”
According to the Brenham Fire Department, the student was last in Brenham at around 4:25 p.m., a city between Austin and Houston.
“The search operation continued through the night, utilizing land-based crew, drones with thermal imaging technology and canine teeth,” the agency said.
It added: “We are still committed to finding this child and taking it home. We ask the community to continue praying for the child, her family and all first responders.”

The Brenham Independent School District said Tuesday that it was “very grateful to local law enforcement, fires, EMS, professional rescue teams for their ongoing efforts and many community members who provided support” to find missing students.
The area continues: “Yesterday, a student at Brenham Elementary School was struggling by floods and is currently missing during the severe weather affecting our area.”
