Calgary International Fashion Week (CIFAW) will be held in Manila for its ninth year (CIFAW)
In its fourth season, Marriott Time A-Fair can make major calibrations. This year's edition will introduce the concept of a “luxury fair” that represents luxury and rich luxury, which promises to become a one-of-a-kind expo. From weddings to events to fashion and art, everything in life will come together in a large venue – the MGBX exhibition hall at the Manila Marriott Hotel.

9Th Calgary International Fashion and Art Week will launch its first – Philippine Fashion Week – on July 26 and July 27, 2025 at the Manila Marriott Hotel. With the theme “Home”, the Ninth CIFAW's goal is to inspire every Filipino who is proud of their roots and the places we call.

Global and local creative talent will have unique celebrations in “global” fashion and art, gathering in “Busy Fair” with the Manila Marriott Hotel as a world-class backdrop.

SCI PH is founded by Philippine-Canadian Limuel Vilela, president and CEO, executive producer/designer/director and former model; and Alvin Masangkay Francia, COO/Chief Creative Director of aviation experts and educators.
“We truly believe that dreams are fulfilled. They are not only distant ideas, but also the seeds of the seeds we have vision, take action and never give up. For us, dreams are not just about imagination, but also about creating a dream that makes those dreams our reality,” Verella said.
Today, the duo not only makes Cifaw, but also makes Calgary Kids Fashion Week, Edmonton Kids Fashion Week and Winnipeg Kids Fashion Week. In 2023, their brand Sci PH (New York and Paris) participated in the “Fashion Forte” collection by Nardie Presa, producer/designer of Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria.
John Ablaza
John Ablaza graduated with a horticulture degree from the University of De La Salle Araneta. He transitioned to interior decoration in 1982, when he worked as a florist and decorator for Asiaworld Plaza Hotel owned by Philippine tycoon Tan Yu in Taipei.
In 1987, John kept flying back to the Philippines and started his career in the field of fashion design. From the 1980s to the 1990s, he performed in the Philippines and overseas. His work has appeared in fashion publications mod, women, women's family daily, women today, other magazines and countless shiny international magazines.
In 1994, he re-employed the country as an in-house designer for Ahla Al Wasayef, a high-end fashion store sponsored by the Bahrain royal family. In 2004, John began designing bags and accessories for his export to France, Spain, Greece, Maldives, Aruba, Bahamas, Bermuda and the United States.
After five years of living in Canada and the United States, he returned to the Philippines in 2010. He wrote Ramp heroine: Philippinesa 300-page coffee table book, records the lives of top Filipino models for fifty years.
He recently launched his own miniature high-end dresses, all handmade and in a 23-inch modeling installation, and called it the Le Petite Couture. It was exhibited on May 30, 2017 at a curated exhibition in Amar Estate, New YorkTh Anniversary of the fashion industry.
Odelon Simpao
Odelon Simpao was coached by internationally awarded designers Frederick Peralta and Jojie Lloren early in his career and has since earned himself a name in his name and has been a great Crossfit athlete in the world of locally fashionable Cutthroat.
His inspiration comes from a wealth of experiences – travel, emotions and surroundings all fuel his creativity. He has made his mark in the fashion world with celebrities like Marian Rivera, Dennis Trillo, Tom Rodriguez, Jed Madela and Mark Bautista.
Kenny Ladaga
Kenny Ladaga is a thriving fashion designer who has gained significant recognition and success in the fashion industry, known for her innovative design, unique style and ability to set trends. He is skilled in creativity and business, understanding market demand while driving boundaries with a bold and artistic concept.
He is the 2012 Moda Mindanao Grand Champion and the 2022 winner of the Philippine Fashion Circle. Kenny is a featured designer for Miss Mindanao Cotton Tapestry in 2016, Habi Mindanao Fashion Show in New York in 2017, Canada Asia Fashion Week 2017 and CIFAW 2022.
Aurea Vinluan
In every aspect of life, a dedicated woman – business, love, family and friendship, Aurea is determined to turn her dreams into reality through hard work and passion. In fashion, she strives to expand her knowledge by meeting new people because she believes connection creates opportunities. She is a fast learner with a growth mindset and she is committed to constantly developing her skills in the fashion industry every day.
AUREA holds a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design and Marketing from the School of Sofa Design and is a Dean Lister and a consistent honors student.
As the founder of Aurea Vinluan Design, she is passionate about creating a variety of clothing styles, including ready-to-wear, gowns and suits. She is passionate about connecting with people, sharing industry knowledge, and engaging in business discussions to promote growth and innovation.
Maliyah Abenir
Maliyah is a Filipino-Canadian fashion designer. She was born in the Philippines and immigrated with her family at the age of 10 to Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Of 11Th In grade, Maliyah took an art class at Ann Howell at Bishop McNally. Ann Howell sets up a path for Maliyah’s creativity through tailoring classes, donating materials, and even the climax of her first runway show at school.
Her flagship brand, Averynthe, was first exhibited at Western Canada Fashion Week in 2013. Fashion Maliyah feels that her brand has been successful in the first three years, but she thinks her brand must improve her knowledge base through additional education, which is a must. She enrolled at George Brown in 2017-2019. Her first fashion show after graduation was Toronto fashion art. Then there was a real homecoming at Western Canada Fashion Week.
Maliyah decided to return to her original brand with a clearer vision. In 2025, we will see Averythe’s rebirth as a high-end streetwear design with Southeast Asian influence. In her passion for making structural garments made from denim and taking the impact of fashion on the environment seriously as she pushes the brand forward: “Designed by Filipinos, made in Canada.”
JakiPeñalosa
A fashion designer has been around for over 25 years. Advocate for hand-woven fabrics in the Philippines. Supporters of local arts and crafts. The current president of the Iloilo Institute of Designers, Iloilo, is a nonprofit organization composed of fashion designers across the city and aims to promote Iloilo as the fashion and art center for the Western Mishayas. In March 2025, she was on the list of fashion designers who married me at Marriott Iloilo City at Iloilo Grand Ballroom at Marriott Iloilo. In 2026, she will debut at 10Th Calgary International Fashion & Art Week will be held in Canada.
Iloilo is a designer of modern Filipino fashion and advocates the use of indigenous Fiber fibers and fabrics in the Philippines, continuing to showcase her intricate Filipino designs around the world. She has been exploring the possibility of hosting fashion events that will promote crafts and fashion art in the Philippines.
