Nintendo’s updated mobile app will make sharing switch 2 screenshots much easier
Nintendo is preparing for the June 5 launch and making sure you’re ready to go when the console reaches your doorstep, you’ll need to download the latest update to the newly renamed Nintendo Switch app. The app formerly known as the Nintendo Switch Online app has added a number of new features, including a more seamless screenshot interface, GameChat features, and placeholder icons for Zelda Notes (such as Zelda Notes). The latter will become available on the day of release.
Arguably the most useful addition is the remodeled screenshot and video upload feature, which allows you to manually or automatically link your phone to Switch 2 and upload it wirelessly to the game. Already available on the original switch (almost not a revolutionary feature), but doing so involves some QR code scans that are not always available. Screenshots and game clips should now appear only in the app, and you can save them locally. From the upload point, up to 100 files can be stored in the application for 30 days, and once the limit is reached, the oldest files will disappear if not saved.
Another Big Switch 2 feature is Nintendo’s new multiplayer voice chat feature GameChat. Through the Nintendo Switch app, you will be able to receive notifications about GameChat invitations, upcoming friends and friend requests for online. The friends you added will be displayed on the app’s home screen. Similarly, no one who plays games on a modern PlayStation or Xbox console in the past decade has been blown away by any of these things, but it looks like there is less fun to play online with friends online on the Switch 2 than its ex.
The Zelda Notes Icon will now appear when you open the Nintendo Switch app, but it won’t work until June 5th. The app is only compatible with the Nintendo Switch version 2. The Legend of Zelda: Breathing in the Wild and The tears of the kingdomeffective features like SAT NAV, can track missing Korok and shrines on save files. You can also Totk Edit photos in the game with friends and check playback records such as the number of defeated enemies and a comprehensive match.
Nintendo made some minor tweaks to Switch 2 before it arrives. On Nintendo Switch Online (not to be confused with mobile apps), you can play simulated classics in Nintendo’s Back Catalog, which will add a new Switch 2 super-focused rewind feature and add it to the N64 library, as well as a new CRT filter. These features are already available for NES and SNES games on the service, and it is not clear why the original switch owners wouldn’t benefit from other N64 options, either.
