First trade: Markets open with a global hint mix; below 25,050

Stock market open bell: The Indian stock benchmark follows a mixed signal in global markets on Friday, August 22, ahead of important global events, including a speech by Fed Chairman Jerome Powell at Jackson Hole, which opened on Friday, August 22.
When open, BSE Sensex fell 124.78 points, or 0.15%, to 81,875.93, while NSE Nifty50’s points fell 36.50 points, or 0.15%, to 25,047.25. The market breadth is positive, with 1,362 stocks moving forward, 920 stocks falling and 151 stocks unchanged.
Among the good profiters are Tata Motors, Barty Aitel, Joey Finance, L&T and Hindalco. On the other hand, ICICI Bank, SBI Life, Apollo Hospitals, Bajaj Finserv and Bajaj Finance have lower transactions.

In terms of currency, the Indian rupee opened 10 Pace weak at 87.37 per dollar, compared with the 87.27 deadline on Thursday at 87.27.
