Former Nigeria’s former president Buhari, Africa’s most populous country, died at the age of 82

Lagos, Nigeria – Former Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari, who has led Nigeria twice as the head of state military and Democratic president, died at the age of 82.
Buhari died in London on Sunday afternoon and is undergoing medical treatment in recent weeks. When he was elected in his fourth attempt in 2015, he became the first opposition candidate to win the presidential election.
He led the most populous country in Africa until 2023, when he was also inherited by Bola Tinubu of All Progressive Conferences.
Buhari’s presidency was plagued by extremism killings, economic plunges and booming corruption. When the military coup first came to power in 1983, he faced a similar situation.
Tinubu sent the vice president to take his body home from London and ordered flags to be hung during the half-time of the country entering a mourning period.
