“Four-legged Heroes”: Chihuahuas help rescue owners fall into glaciers – National – National

A hiker who asked not to be named fell a crack while crossing a glacier in Switzerland, thanks to a very obedient little companion, his Chihuahua.
When the man climbed the snow bridge on Friday, he hiked on the cost glaciers in the south of the country with white and brown long-haired dogs, an often unstable snow that formed an arch shape on the gaps of the glaciers, forming 26 feet on the gaps of the glaciers and falling 26 feet down between the ice.
When stuck, he used his amateur intercom to the radio for help. Meanwhile, his loyal companion sat on the edge of the crack.
According to Swiss helicopter rescue company Air Zermatt, a nearby person answered the rescue call but could not find the exact location of the accident.

“At 3:00 pm, a crew member of the airborne Zermatt, with three KWRO rescue experts on board, then took off in the direction of the glacier fee. … The search for the collapse site is difficult. The glacier surface is wide and almost invisible,” the rescue department said in a statement on Sunday.
Then, a member of the rescue team discovered a small move on the rock. The man’s dog sat patiently next to the hole where the owner fell.
The heroic Chihuahua stood on a rock, marking the place where his master fell.

“Due to the dog’s behavior, the crew was able to find the exact location of the accident. Rescue personnel were caught in casualties and were able to save him,” the statement said.
Both the patient and his dog were flew to a hospital in the nearby southern town of Visp.
According to the rescuer’s account, the dog did not move from its position on the rock throughout the rescue mission and followed the entire procedure.
“It is fair to say that his actions have made a significant contribution to the successful rescue. The dog is a four-legged hero who may have saved his owner’s life in a life-threatening situation.”
Last June, an Oregon dog ran six kilometers to save his owner, Brandon Garrett, after the man accidentally drove the truck into the ravine.
Garrett was heading north with his four dogs on 39 American Forest Service Road when he failed to negotiate the curve and fell off the embankment.
He had never been to the campground that was supposed to meet his loved ones that day due to the crash, so his dog blue jumped up and sprinted almost six kilometers to remind his family.
Garrett was able to stay away from the truck about 100 yards, and police said he spent the night in the dense wilderness.
When Blue arrived at the camp with glass in her nose, his family knew what was wrong.
Garett’s family was able to find him and his three dogs, and they all survived the next morning and were rescued with the help of emergency services.
