Sabalenka joins the Gucci family – Tennis Now

World No. 1 tennis fashionista Aryna Sabalenka is stepping up her game as the new brand ambassador for famed Italian brand Gucci.
The brand shared a stylish Sabalenka post on Thursday, making the partnership official.
After winning in Melbourne on day six, the 27-year-old donned dark Gucci sunglasses and said: “Gucci is bold and expressive. I think it’s the perfect fit.” How’s the brand placement going?
Will we see Sabalenka wearing Gucci clothing in the future? Obviously, her clothing sponsor Nike had to come on board first. Not sure that will happen, but maybe a collaboration?
“I’m not going to shut down about it,” Sabalenka said when asked if she might soon be wearing Gucci in a walk-on role. “We’ll see. Unfortunately, we still need to talk to Nike. But I’d love to see that. This is the perfect time to take fashion to court. Gucci is the best brand, the best fashion brand right now with the best designers.”
“I think we can do really cool things on the court.”
Last year, Sabalenka ranked second on Sportico’s list of the highest-paid female athletes, earning $15 million from prize money and another $15 million from endorsements. With Gucci’s support, that number could be even bigger next year.
