Indian Wells – The sun has set Gael Monfils Sunshine double.
Monfils lost to Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-4 in the second round of Indian Wells and announced that he will not participate in next week’s Miami Open.
During a Q&A with fans on X, Monfils was asked if he would play in the ATP Masters 1000 events in Miami and Monte Carlo.
“I don’t play in Miami and I don’t know MC,” Monfils replied.
I am you from Miami, I am MC’s encore

For fans dreaming of Monfils playing doubles with wife Elina Svitolina, that won’t happen at Roland Garros, but Monfils has left the door open for a spot in the U.S. Open mixed doubles.
“No, I don’t think I’ll play mixed doubles at RG, but maybe in America,” Monfils said, adding a winking emoji to his answer.
Former world No. 6 Monfils announced last fall that 2026 would be his farewell season on the ATP Tour.
“An exciting new generation of players has arrived,” Monfils said. “I hope they enjoy their time on the field as much as I have over the past two decades.”
