Gayle King's criticism of Blue Origin space flight “very disappointed”

“That's what I'm going to say: Space is not a/or, it's a/and. Because you do something in space doesn't mean you're taking anything off the earth, and what you're doing in space is trying to make things better on Earth,” King told Entertainment tonight. “What Blue Origin wants to do is waste here and figure out a way to put it in space to make our planet cleaner. JeffBezos has a lot of ideas, and the people working there are really committed to making our planet a better place.”

“So, I'm very disappointed and very sad about it,” King said, noting that she received news from women and girls inspired by all-women's space crew.
King also called on people who called the trip “cycle” and noted: “Whenever a man rises, you never say to the astronauts, ‘Boy, how riding!’”
