German Chancellor Mells believes economic transformation is underway
Prime Minister Friedrich Merz believes that Germany is back on track economically. “We’ve started the turnaround,” Melz told reporters at a traditional summer press conference in Berlin on Friday.
Meiers said the government’s priority is to lift the economy out of the recession, pointing to tax relief measures for companies that have already been decided.
Meers said that sentiment in the economy is improving, leading economic institutions are increasing their forecasts, and investors’ interest in Germany will increase significantly.
Meers said the federal government wants to ensure Germany becomes more competitive again, referring to a 500 billion euro ($580 billion) special fund to promote additional investment in infrastructure and climate change actions.
He said the decision was not easy, but everyone would benefit from it.
On Monday, Meers plans to meet with representatives from the big company in Berlin’s principal. The focus of the meeting will be on how to increase investment in Germany.
