Germany's Mells promises to turn the country into a “growth locomotive”

Germany's new prime minister Friedrich Merz believes that the ill economy that once envied Europe can become a “growth locomotive” again, promising tax breaks, infrastructure investment and cuts to the traditional Chinese tape festival.

“We can use our strength to be a growth locomotive worldwide again,” Meles said in his first government statement in parliament after taking office last week.

Meles said he is still working to restore the economy.

“We want to support the EU in reaching as many new trade agreements as possible,” the Prime Minister said.

He said Germany will continue to abide by national, European and international climate goals, but the focus shifts to pricing of carbon dioxide.

The state will not be used by the state but returns to the economy and citizens in a targeted manner, Meles said. ” said Melz.
