Mpetshi Perricard splits with coach Planque: ‘This phase will be very important in my journey’
The Frenchman won two ATP Tour titles under Plank’s guidance

Giovanni Mpesi-Pericard announced on Sunday the end of his partnership with long-time coach Emmanuel Planc.
Since their partnership began, Mpetshi Perricard won his first two ATP Tour titles, in Lyon and Basel in 2024, and climbed to a career-high No. 29 in the PIF ATP Rankings. Under Planck’s tutelage, the Frenchman established himself as one of the most influential drivers on the Tour de France and a rising force on the men’s circuit.
“After four years, my partnership with Emmanuel Planque has ended,” Mpetshi Perricard wrote in French on social media. “Manu, thank you for your hard work and dedication, which helped me grow not only as a tennis player but also as a person.
“This phase will be very important in my journey.”
The 6-foot-8 Mpetshi Perricard had a breakthrough year on the ATP Tour in 2024, when he won two titles and made rapid progress with his explosive serve and aggressive playing style.
However, his momentum slowed in 2025 as he struggled to maintain consistency, finishing the season with a 19-26 tour record, according to the Infosys ATP Win-Loss Index.
World No. 56 Mpetshi Perricard will start his campaign at the ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam on Tuesday against seventh seed Tallon Griekspoor, who won their only previous Lexus ATP meeting.
