After three weeks of political affairs, Elon Musk is back. And he seems ready to blow up the entire two gathering systems in the United States.
Billionaire Tesla and SpaceX CEO quieted down after a spectacular public feud with Donald Trump on June 5, returning to the political arena with a series of explosive attacks. Now, he threatens to find a new party to compete with Republicans and Democrats.
This gambling seems to be planned when he is recently absent from political focus. Over the past three weeks, Musk’s post on X (formerly Twitter) has focused on his business, Tesla, his AI Chatbot Grok and his Brain Chip Company Neuralink promotion. That period of peace has ended. Over the past 72 hours, he has launched some of the most violent attacks and has not yet signed legislation to “a beautiful bill” against President Trump.
Musk believes that the bill includes massive tax cuts, putting pressure on big oil and will dangerously increase national debt. Musk, who previously led the efficiency of the Trump administration’s Department of Efficiency, believes that the priority should be to cut costs rather than increase spending. He let his anger know without hesitation.
“Every member of Congress who is committed to reducing government spending and then immediately vote for the biggest debt increase in history should be ashamed!” The billionaire threatened on X on June 30. He then added a direct commitment to political retribution: “If this is the last thing I do on Earth, they will lose their main commitment for next year.”

Musk went further, promising to find a party to break the current two-party system.
“It’s obvious that the crazy spending of this bill increased the debt ceiling by a record $5 trillion, and we live in a party country – pork party!!” tech tycoon posted angrily. He then said to the final blow: “It’s time to join a new party that really cares about the people.”

In another article, he revealed what he called the third KMT, writing: “If this crazy spending bill passes, the American Party will be formed the next day.” He continued: “Our country needs to replace the Democratic Republican Federation so that the people actually have a voice.”

Essentially, Musk believes that neither the Republicans who control the government nor the democratic opposition are a large part of the Americans. He seemed to believe that the ground was conducive to new movements. According to a 2024 Gallup study, 43% of Americans are identified as independents, while only 28% are identified as Republicans or Democrats. To underline his seriousness, Musk threatened to target lawmakers who voted for the bill.

Musk estimates that the Bloomberg Billionaire Index is estimated to be $363 billion, and Musk certainly has economic means to follow. In the 2024 election cycle alone, he spent nearly $290 million on his support for Trump and other Republican candidates. But history shows that third-party candidates struggle with the U.S. electoral system. Ross Perot’s 1992 presidential election took over 18.9% of the vote but did not win the electoral seat, while recent candidates like Jill Stein voted below 1%.
This threat also seems to have caused Musk to divorce the Trump administration. He voted on the bill by publicly supporting Kentucky’s representative Thomas Massie and said the president lacked the power to blow up Iran without Congress’ approval. Massie has since become the target of Trump’s anger.
“The magazine should give up this pathetic loser like a plague, Tom Massi!” Trump posted about Massi. “The good news is that in the Republican primary we will have a great American Patriot against him and I will run for Kentucky.”
Musk responded to an article by former liberal MP Justin Amash, asking for support for Massie and answered with a simple and direct commitment: “I will.”
This is not the first time Musk has raised the idea of a third party: “On all issues, a party that is more moderate than a representative or a DEMS is ideal,” he released in May 2022, adding: “This is what most people in the United States want, but unfortunately, it’s not realistic.” But now, after the chaos in Washington and a public breakup with the president, he seems to be more determined than ever.
Currently, President Trump ignores him.
The question is, how long?
