Globe works with Khan Academy Philippines, AI, and can now learn in Globeone apps

To enhance the state of education in the country and share the shared vision of as many learners as possible, Globe and Khan Academy Philippines work together to bring quality education closer to every Filipino. Working together to focus on empowering students and educators through inclusive digital learning will be particularly beneficial in getting access to learning materials.

The collaboration provides timely support for the current reforms of the Ministry of Education, especially in schools’ digitalization, teacher support and connectivity programs.

At the heart of this partnership is the Digital Skills Program, which combines Globe’s national connection and presence with Khan Academy’s trusted global content. It goes beyond textbooks and traditional teaching and also offers courses on STEM, digital literacy, online security and basic life skills, accessible online or via the Globeone app.

Now students can access courses consistent with the current courses in the Ministry of Education, and the teacher’s support is Khanmigo, an AI teaching assistant, making administration easier and thus allowing teachers to have a greater learning impact. Khanmigo can work in a variety of local Filipino languages when prompted, such as Tagalog, Waray, Cebuano, Hiligaynon and Ilocano.

“Education must evolve with the times. We use technology to make learning easier and more effective,” said Yoly Crisanto, chief sustainability and corporate communications officer of Globe. “By working with the Philippines at Khan Academy, we will open the door to go beyond students to learn through the 21st century. With the Globeone app, pedagogy is inclusive, relevant and accessible.”

The partnership will include an employee volunteer program for Globe employees to interact with partner schools and communities to learn how to use Khan Academy’s educational resources.

“This is the future, and digitalization is the way forward,” shared Geraldine B. Acuña-Sunshine, president and CEO of the Philippine Khan Academy. “We’re not just talking about physics classrooms anymore. We’re imagining classrooms with screens, smart tools and an open world of knowledge. Here’s a Bayanihan In action. Every little contribution, every supporting behavior, helps build something bigger than ourselves. ”

Beneficiary schools include Manila in Longton, Pasong Kawayan 2 West Elementary School in Cavite City, Lahug Elementary School in Cebu City, Centex Peta in Bauan and Pampanga High School in San Fernando City.

“Our greatest gratitude is advocated for our valuable partners, Globe and Khan Academy Philippines, our journey to digital transformation,” Education Minister Sonny Angara shared. “By bridging learners and educators to digital tools, we are not just relaxing the learning process, but also enhancing dreams and shaping their future.”

Globe and Khan Academy Philippines call on students, teachers, parents and school administrators to access digital learning through the Khan Academy platform.
