NFL employee seriously injured in mass shooting at Manhattan headquarters

An NFL employee reportedly was “severely injured” in a mass shooting at 345 Park Avenue, Midtown Manhattan, home to the league’s headquarters.

Located on 52nd Street and Park Avenue, the office building is the site of a tragic mass shooting that included a policeman who released a fire inside before his life.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell sent a message to all the league employees who announced trauma activities.

“As widely reported, a gunman committed indescribable violence in our building at 345 Park Avenue. One of our employees was seriously injured in the attack.” “He is currently in the hospital and is in a stable condition. NFL employees are in the hospital and we are supporting his family.”

“We believe that all our employees were otherwise safe and responsible and that the building has been almost cleared.”

Goodell added notices focusing on all emergency information as the situation remains the same.

New York Shooting: Knowledge about Gunner Shane Tamura

According to the NYPD, a New York Police Department official who died in the shooting was identified as an immigrant from Bangladesh, 36-year-old Didal Islam, who left behind two sons and a pregnant wife. He was one of two uniformed officials at 345 Park Avenue when the shooting occurred, even though he worked on Monday to serve as the security of Rudin Management in the building.

“We are very grateful to the law enforcement officers for their quick and decisive response to this threat and their efforts to the Islamic officers who gave their lives to protect others,” Goodell wrote.

New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch identified the shooter, who acted alone, is 27-year-old Las Vegas resident Shane Tamura with mental health problems.

Tamura traveled off-road, and his vehicle last appeared in Columbia, New Jersey until 4:24 p.m., when he soon released a gunshot in the high-rise building.

Security video shows Tamura entering the hall at 345 Park Avenue and immediately fired, firing. Tisch said then he used an M4 assault rifle to drive a security guard behind the table.

Tamura waits for an elevator where he allows a woman to be unharmed and then takes it to the 33rd floor. Police said he started shooting and killing another person, then eventually taking his own life.

Tamura is licensed to carry hidden weapons in Nevada.

The NYPD is cleaning up every floor of the building to ensure everyone is safe and there are no other shooters present.

As part of the letter to employees, Goodell mentioned the alliance’s resources to help employees deal with tragic events.

“As you know, all employees, including the grief counselor, have a lot of resources,” Goodell wrote. “Low, HR will provide you with more information on the resources available and how to leverage them.

“New York-based people should work remotely tomorrow. This is understandable if you prefer to take a vacation. The safe presence at 345 Park Avenue will increase in the coming days and weeks.

Each of you is an important member of the NFL family. We will solve this problem together. ”
