Goto Foods launches Moe’s Casa Mexicana in India

Goto Foods, a developer of the multi-channel food service brand in the United States, announced the international debut of Moe’s Casa Mexicana, a reimagined concept derived from Moe’s Southwest BBQ.

The brand will be launched in India later in 2025 through franchisee Unify Foodworks, which has pledged to develop 45 locations by 2033.

Goto Foods said the introduction of Moe’s Casa Mexicana highlights its strategy to expand its brand globally, with 60% of its development pipeline concentrated outside the United States.

The concept is to use insights from more than 2,000 consumers from six countries to blend Mexican flavors with local menu adaptive and flexible real estate formats designed to grow in emerging markets.

Moe’s Casa Mexicana will be available in a variety of formats including full-scale, online, dining and kiosk options.

The company notes that the smaller footprint and dedicated international supply chains are designed to fit the concept into high-density urban areas and developing markets.

It is expected to open this year at the CASA Mexico location in India.

Goto Foods is also targeting expansions in other high potential markets, including the UK, Australia, South Korea, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Based in Atlanta, GoTo Foods operates more than 6,900 restaurants, cafes, ice cream shops, and bakeries across all 50 US states and more than 65 countries and territories under various brand names, including Auntie Anne’s, Carvel, Cinnabon, Jamba, Moe’s Southwest Grill, McAlister’s Deli, and Schlotzsky’s, as well as Seattle’s Best Coffee in select military bases and international markets.

“The launch of Moe’s Casa Mexicana marks a decisive moment for Goto Foods as we expand another iconic brand to the global stage,” said Jim Holthouser, CEO of Goto Foods.

“Our platform company model has already provided successful international growth for brands like Cinnabon and Anne Anth’s, and now we apply the same approach to Moe’s Southwest Grill.”

In 2024, Focus Brands, which owns brands including Anne’s, Carvel, Cinnabon, McAlister’s Deli, Moe Southwest and Schlotzsky, is known as Goto Foods.
