Granollers and Zeballos defeat defending champions on day one of Nitto ATP Finals

Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos continued their perfect record against defending champions Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz, recording their first wins at the 2025 Nitto ATP Finals in Turin on Sunday.
The Spaniards and Argentines earned their second win of the year with a 6-4, 4-6, 10-6 victory over the Germans in their bid for their sixth title of the season, improving their Lexus ATP head-to-head record to 4-0 in the process.
“It’s important to start the game well,” Granollers said. “In the end, every game is important, every set is important. So it’s very important for us to start with a win.”

According to Infosys ATP statistics, both teams saved eight of the nine break points they faced, but Granollers and Zeballos expertly raised their level in the tie-break, which saw them lead at 8/3.
“As we know, this is a very tough game,” Zeballos said. “Every game here is [like] Finals, especially when you play this team. They are a very strong team. I think one of the keys is to stay positive in the beginning [Match] Tie-break. After losing the second set, it was really tough. “
Granollers and Zeballos appear in their sixth consecutive Nitto ATP Finals (8-11 record). They reach the finals in 2023.
