Historical performances on Angkasangga party list behind National Transport Union rally

In a landmark move to reshape the landscape of public transport advocacy, the country’s largest and most influential transport leader united in solidarity with Angkasangga PartyList, formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) whose first nominee George Royeca, in a downward summit, delayed long-standing sector solidarity.
Representing a broad coalition of national organizations, including Tricycles (TODA), UV Express, Jeeps, Van Rentals and Taxis – The coalition says the integration of traffic voices has long been separated by departmental disputes and policy splits. For the first time in decades, these groups have come together under a shared vision: a unified, capable and dignified future for every transport worker in the Philippines.
The historic MOA affirms collective actions against pressing transport issues such as livelihood protection, dignified modernization and inclusive legislation. This also marks a turning point in the relationship between traditional transport groups and emerging mobility platforms, highlighting the commitment to conflicting cooperation in the evolving public transport ecosystem.
Attendance to sign the signing were key figures in the National Transport Union, including:
Ariel Lim, president of NACTODAP and the United Transport Alliance of the Philippines, highlights the current scale:
“This MOA is not just symbolic. After years of division, we are now moving forward with a voice. The unity of our department began today – with Angkasangga as our common platform.”
NACTODAP Vice President Lito Legaspi expressed full support from the nation’s grassroots Toda network and called for immediate mobilization throughout Barangays.
Acto Nationwide Corp. leader Juancho Capariño promised full alignment in the Jeep sector and strengthened nationwide coordination under Acto's extensive network.
Gerry Donesa, the established voice among Metro Manila taxi operators, highlights the support of traditional transport companies and is ready to help shape a modern, inclusive future.
It is worth noting that the coalition includes former opponents of the motorcycle taxi action, indicating a strong shift in the industry. The group that once filed legal cases against the MC Taxi platform now maintains solidarity with Angkasangga, recognizing the leadership and bridge construction efforts that George Royeca brings all departments to the same table.
Mr. Royca is the visionary man behind Ankas and a long-time advocate for transport workers’ rights, and welcomes support with humility and determination:
“It is not only a political recognition, but a sport. From tricycles to jeeps, UV expresses, vans and taxis, our transport heroes deserve to be represented, protected and progressed. Angkasangga exists to make every driver, every operator, every nameless road sound.
This unification of unity marks the beginning of a new era of transportation policy making, with departments giving way to common goals, while the long-term division of Filipino mobility is a legitimate seat on the policy making table.
