ABC News paused Terry Moran’s X post, which calls Trump official Stephen Miller “world-class hater”

ABC News said it has paused a late-night X post since its deletion, suspending senior state journalist Terry Moran and an official attacking Trump administration, Stephen Miller, a “world-class hater.”

“ABC News represents objectivity and impartiality in news reports and does not tolerate subjective personal attacks on others,” a network spokesperson said. “The post did not reflect ABC News’ views and violated our standards – as a result, Terry Moran was suspended before further evaluation.”

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the network should put him in charge, and Vice President JD Vance asked for an apology.

At 12:06 a.m., the postal was called Trump’s Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, “world-class hatred.”

“You can see this by looking at him because you can see that his hatred is his spiritual nourishment. He ate hatred.”

“Trump is a world-class hater. But his hatred is just a means to achieve his end, and that is his own glory. That is his spiritual nourishment.”

Even though the post has been deleted, Leavitt tagged the post on Sunday morning, writing: “This is no barriers and unacceptable. We have contacted @ABC to ask how they plan to keep Terry accountable.”

Miller himself wrote on X on Sunday morning: “The most important fact about Terry’s full public collapse is what it shows about corporate press in the United States. Privileged hosts and journalists who narrate and protect our society have been in the pose of journalists for decades. Terry took off his mask.”

Vice President JD Vance also praised Moran’s position as “Miller’s evil smear.”

“It happened that I knew Stephen very well. He was motivated by love for the country. He was motivated by fear that people like Terry Moran had set rules that ordinary Americans had to follow, but those with good connections did not,” Vance wrote. “That’s why he’s working so hard to get Trump elected as president and why he’s working to carry out the agenda. The ABC should apologize to Stephen. Terry’s posting is shameful.”

The position appeared on Moran’s account after Trump deployed 2,000 National Guard to Los Angeles in response to protests in Southern California. Gov. Gavin Newsom objected to deployment as “purposeful inflammation.”

Moran and Trump conducted an Oval Office interview in April to mark the first 100 days of the president’s tenure. Trump is sometimes frank about Moran because ABC news reporters pressure him, thinking that the photos of Kilmar Abrego Garcia actually showed him the tattoo of “MS-13”. However, the letters have been superimposed on the photos to accuse Garcia of other symbols on his knuckles meant he had a gang affiliation.

Trump’s interview is said to be not on ABC News World News tonight Host David Muir. Muir joined Linsey Davis in hosting the presidential debate last September, when Trump and his allies attacked the duo fact-checked some of Trump’s claims. A conservative group filed a complaint with the FCC, saying what they called “debate bias” from the network.

Good morning USA Co-host and This week Meanwhile, host George Stephanopoulos is the center of Trump’s defamation lawsuit against the network. In an interview with Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) in March 2024, Stephanopoulos said that “the jury found” that Trump was “responsible for the rape.” In fact, a civil jury ruled that Trump was responsible for sexual abuse and slander writer E. Jean Carroll, although the judge in the case concluded that the jury’s ruling “does not mean she failed to prove that Mr. Trump raped her, as many would usually understand the term “rape.”

Still, when Trump was about to return to the office, the network resolved the case, paying the planned $15 million payment to the Trump Presidential Library and an additional $1 million in attorney fees.

Trump continues to attack the network and even file additional lawsuits. Last month, he conducted a report on the network about the gift of the 747-8 aircraft given by Katar, which will be used as an aviation magazine and then transferred to the Trump Presidential Library Foundation.

Moran joined ABC News in 1997.
